If you are looking to raise your own pigs for butcher, we got some great ones to choose from.
Right now we have ten sows and two boars. One boar is a full Yorkshire. He is white in color. The other is a cross breed. He is gray in color.
While our sows are nursing they are fed a higher protein feed to help them provide for their piglets. Our sows have their litters in a crate. They are brought into the crate a few days before she is due. They walk into their crate on their own. They are not pushed or forced into the birthing crate. This will give her time to settle. It also provides security to the piglets as well as us farmers.
Sows are very protective. When we take the piglets away to castrate the males or if medical aid is necessary, it protects us from getting injured by mama pig.
We wean our piglets between 6-8 weeks of age. Piglets need to be eating and drinking on their own. We worm the piglets with an injectable wormer and mama gets to go back in the pasture.
We also have a great selection of weaner pigs for our local 4H and FFA fairs.
If interested in weaner pigs, please fill out the contact us form, or feel free to call us or email.
